Did you leave a pot on the stove too long?

Not all fires have charred drywall and black soot. Have you ever heard of a protein fire? Have you ever left your home and wondered if you turned the stove off? A protein fire is caused by burning food and will look and smell completely different than a normal house fire. First of all, you may not see any damage because the smoke is white or pale yellow unlike the black soot of a carbon fire. You will smell a burnt, acrid odor throughout the home. This is one of the hardest odors to remove! Treatment of a protein fire requires specialized cleaning chemicals to thoroughly clean every horizontal and vertical surface in your home. After being cleaned your home may need one or two deodorization treatments to thoroughly eradicate the odor.
