Here at SERVPRO of El Dorado Hills/Placerville, we want you to welcome the new year on a good note! Please remember to take extra care during the celebrations. Many of the things we enjoy during this festive period, such as fireworks, fairy lights, candles, and decorations, can all be fire hazards when proper care is not taken!

Tips we recommend to keep you safe this New Year:

  • Fireworks

If you are planning to celebrate with fireworks, store them in a metal box, read the instructions, never go back to a lit firework and keep a bucket of water nearby

  • Candles

Never place candles near your furnishings. Do not leave them burning unattended

  • Electrical appliances

Switch off electrical appliances when not in use, unless they’re designed to stay on. Take extra special care with fairy lights and outdoor lights. Always switch off and unplug lights before you go to bed

  • Cooking

Never leave cooking unattended. Always remain in the kitchen when the stovetop is turned on

  • Smoke Alarms

Check the battery in your smoke alarm, and use the New Year as a reminder to clean it and remove dust!

Many New Year celebrations include fireworks, candles, and lights. If you do utilize these products, be cautious and wary of your surroundings and keep a supply of water or fire extinguisher at hand. We are here to serve you in your time of need, should anything go wrong. We are just a phone call away! 916-933-3890. Call us for any fire damage during the holidays; we service for our local areas: Shingle Springs, Diamond Springs, Cameron Park and El Dorado Hills.
