Winter Storm Hits Placer County

SERVPRO of El Dorado Hills/Placerville have been getting numerous calls from residents in the city of Placerville. This winter has hit the town more than ever before resulting in difficulties for the residents. Issues include inches of snow causing water damage to exterior of homes, electrical and power lines and fallen trees collapsing into homes. Our most recent call was a mobile home park located in Placerville that experienced an electrical power line that fell through the roof resulting in damage to the kitchen and living room area. Due to the snow melting, there was water damage to the drywall ceiling and wall, insulation, vinyl and carpet flooring.
With an opening to the home, additional damage can occur if more snow comes and melts on the roof and falls into the house, or it begins raining in Placerville. This poses a problem to the homeowner as the heavy rain could cause severe water damage throughout the home.
In this instance, tarping of the roof can prevent further damages to the property. As for the damages to the interior of the home, SERVPRO of El Dorado Hills/Placerville can assist with the mitigation and restoration. Our mitigation consists of removing affected materials.
