There are three categories of water when working in the restoration industry. First, we have category 1 - this will be clean water most likely coming from a toilet tank, sink, or refrigerator. Category 2 water losses are typically from washing machines, dish washers, and any loss that may have been going on for over a week. Not many people know that soap is in fact a contaminant. Last but not least, we have category 3. Sewage is obviously something that will make you very sick if ingested due to all of the bacteria and viruses that run through our sewer system.
